Fuel Your Body and Soul to Help Yourself Stay Calm

Modern life can be highly stressful. Between work, family, and personal obligations, it can sometimes seem like the stress never ends. It doesn’t have to be this way, though. At Informed Health, we work with our clients to help them lead healthy, balanced lives. It all starts with proper nutrition. Our nutritional services give our clients the foundation they need to keep their bodies healthy and their minds calm – the two have more in common than you might think. Here are a few of our tips to help you accomplish this.

Practice Healthy Nutrition

What kind of nutritionists would we be if our number one tip wasn’t to eat healthy? We truly believe that eating a nutritious diet is the best thing that you can do to help yourself stay calm throughout the day. When your body is properly fuelled, it is better able to regulate your moods, keeping you in more even state all day long. In addition, you will find that you can focus more easily, helping you to get through your work days without procrastinating, one of the key causes of stress in many adults.

Take a Creative Break

Take some time each day to do something creative. You don’t have to be a talented artist or skilled musician; the act of simply being creative has amazing stress-reducing properties. Pick up a colouring book or strum a few chords on a guitar. You could even write free-form poetry. Choose any activity you like and let your creative mind wander free. By using your brain in a different way than you typically do, you’ll find that you are free to forget about the worries of your day and just get lost in your creativity. It’s also a lot of fun!

Be Thankful

People often get so caught up in trying to be better and have more that they often forget to stop and express gratitude for the things they already have. Take just a few moments to be thankful for the good things in your life – even the little things. Acknowledging these little things can give you a greater sense of satisfaction with your life, taking off the pressure to constantly be striving for more. What you’ve already got is pretty great.
